Mercer Estates Chardonnay 2007

The Chardonnay grapes were sourced from five vineyards with long histories of producing exceptional Chardonnay grapes. The wines were fermented predominately in French oak barrels and aged sur lies. Partial malolactic fermentation added complexity and body while the non-malolactic portion of the wine retained its fresh melon and tropical flavors and acidity. This elegant, complex Chardonnay expresses good varietal character accented with a hint of vanilla and oak spice.

"Very pleasant, relatively light, showing a pretty mix of citrus and tropical fruit, fresh cream, light toast and a hint of cinnamon. The alcohol rests at 14.1% but feels a bit lighter, and the wine has a pleasing ripeness without becoming fat or heavy"
